Hi, I'm Joann Williams Walker

Thank you for visiting my blog. At this time, it is pretty sparse, but I hope it will fill up soon. Here is a little about me. I hope you will get to know more about me through my blog and art. Here is a bio a friend of mine made for me.

Jo Ann Williams Walker is an American impressionist painter whose art immerses viewers in the profound beauty of the world. Her plein air presentations and her still lifes transform ordinary images into exuberant reflections of color and light.

The vibrant color of her work reflects her passion for life. Her subject matter is taken from her travels to the mountains of Colorado, New Mexico and North Carolina and to the beaches of coastal California, Florida, Georgia, France and Italy.

Over the years, her brushwork has become more confident and self-assured which has resulted in freer and stronger compositions. Her still life compositions are haphazardly yet perfectly arranged.

Jo Ann has been involved in art since the 70’s – working with Winsor & Newton, London, England; Binney and Smith, NJ and Fredrix Canvas, Lawrenceville, GA. She assisted in the design of artists’ brushes for Robert Simmons, NYC and FM Brushes,
Secaucus, NJ. She gives credit to her many mentors along the way and is appreciative of their influence in her life.

In her work she reveals her personal philosophy that what often is viewed as merely ordinary in life and nature is actually quite extraordinary.
